The academic team finishes the 2011-2012 year by winning the MONTANA ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPIOHSHIP, defeating Billings Skyview 225-230. The A team consisting of Eamon Thomasson, Mary Brooks, Michael Rebarchik, Kilah Tierney, Zahra Tierney, and Tanner Finney was undefeated in the round robin portion, defeating CMR, Chinook, Whitehall, Sentinel, Loyola, Lewistown, Glendive, Billings Skyview, and Havre to gain the #1 seed going into the playoffs, where they defeated Sentinel in the semi-finals to advance to the championship. A very fitting end to the most successful academic team season. In the course of the year, Frenchtown won 6 tournaments, and finished 2nd in 3 other tournaments. To cap the season, Eamon and Mary were MVP's of the state tournament, and were selected to represent Montana in the Wyoming/Montana Academic All-star tournament on June 19 in Billings.
The A team will also compete in the PACE National Academic Tournament in St. Louis on June 9-10.
