There was a total of 30 golfers who were on the golf team this year. King Ranch was very generous in letting these golfers hit range balls, play for free and give them discounted summer passes. We are very lucky to work with amazing people at King Ranch! First year assistant coach and golf professional Tim Bakker was vital in helping organize JV tourney's to allow each of these golfers at least one tournament.
Bronc Golf looks strong right now with a very good junior program up and coming. The boys divisional tournament team consisted of:
Senior Braxton Money
Senior Porter Tollefson
Junior Evan Sailer
Freshman Henry Griffin
Freshman Brooks Day
Alternate Freshman Gage Rate
These boys didn't qualify for state, but improved drastically this year to put themselves in position to be competing these next couple of years. We are starting to see the effects of our Junior PGA program that Tim Bakker has done a very good job with in the spring.
The Girls divisional team consisted of:
Senior Grace Martello
Sophomore Katie Lewis
Sophomore Bridget Anderson
Sophomore Aubrey Tollefson
These 4 girls displayed some incredible mental toughness to bring home a 3rd place state and divisional trophy! Only the 3rd state trophy in Frenchtown Lady Bronc golf history! Golf is so often recognized as an individual sport, but these 4 girls embraced the team aspect of golf and came together after a tough Divisional tourney and put together 2 great days of golf in tough conditions on lightning quick greens. Not bad for 3 sophomores and a Senior.
Grace Martello put together an incredible back nine to shoot a personal best 43! A nine that included 3 straight pars!
Sophomore’s Bridget Anderson and Aubrey Tollefson improved drastically throughout the year. Bridget shot an 82 earlier this year to place 2nd. She has a ton of potential to become a very good golfer these next 2 years! Aubrey, in her first state tourney, bounced back from a tough first day and shot her personal best! These 2 are going to be fun to watch these next 2 years!
Sophomore standout Katie Lewis capped off an undefeated season with an individual state title and divisional title! She won by 17 strokes becoming the first individual state champion in Frenchtown history for both boys and girls! She is going to be one to follow for many years to come! Katie put in the work that not many people see. Waking up early to use the putting mat in the winter, playing over 140 rounds this summer and constant work on her mental game. She is one incredible kid!
Very proud of these girls! It was so fun to watch them all get better this year.
